Open Arms Bible Institute has accreditaion from the Worldwide Accrediting Commision (WWAC) based in Richmond, VA. The WWAC is an independent non-profit corporation chartered as an accrediting agency for Bible colleges and specialized Christian schools, institutes, and seminaries. The WWAC is dedicated to assisting those institutions of Christian higher education to gain a quality, non-regional accreditation, characterized by academic excellence and ethical practices. It has a current membership of over 250 schools in 39 states. Because of the convictions of its member schools in support of religious freedom and the separation of church and state, the WWAC has elected not to request official recognition as an accrediting agency from the U.S. Department of Education.Anyone wishing to contact them for verification may write to: The WWAC, Dr. Paul Richardson, Executive President, 2800 Blendwell Rd., Richmond, VA 23224 or call (804) 276-4709
There is no such thing as Federal or State accreditation of a Bible School, for civil government has no authority to regulate religious teachings.
Accreditation in the U.S. is strictly voluntary. Hundreds of schools within the U.S. are top quality institutions with high academic standards and have elected not to seek accreditation. For instance, Kenneth Hagin's Rhema Bible Trainng Center in Tulsa, Ok is not accredited yet is a very good school.
The quality of an education is dependent upon the course content and the willingness of the student to recieve the knowledge. It is quite possible to spend thousands of dollars at a highly regarded seminary and receive an inferior education.
